It just so happens that I take a lot of pictures of books-on-windowsills

The Dutch Golden Age Painters carefully picked their turf and specialised  in a particular area: landscapes, seascapes, cloudscapes, church interiors, still lives (with or without silverware, with or without overripe fruit, etc).

 I can’t say I consciously picked my amateur photo-turf.

I just happen to take a lot of pictures of books-on-windowsills in various light-situations.

Not just sheer coincidence of course; what with all the staring and gazing I do, my northern devotion to rare rays of light and then a certain tendency to acquire books and not putting them away in bookcases.
